The native release canary previously killed Cargo after an app-defined 600-second limit. Ordinary compilation, SDK preparation, audio conversion, bus acknowledgements and HTTP processing now await their actual result, error or explicit cancellation. Specification requirements and the pinned Matrix, JMAP and Playwright defaults are preserved. Owned tasks/processes, FFmpeg interruption and shutdown abort/join remain intact.

The follow-up also restores the compiler wrapper for the optimized canary, separates Matrix transport acknowledgement from deferred SAS delivery, and observes owned media tasks with safe failure diagnostics. PostgreSQL fixture documentation follows the current Gold reference; VRDS gains no new database or schema. Existing app features, stored data and the Harbor image repository remain intact.

Validation of the final source: full just gate Exit 0 (747.45s), 1,113 successful Rust executions across feature profiles, 42 tooling tests, 48 UI-JS tests, full browser flow, native audio processing of 63 fixtures, optimized worker canary (174.34s, no build deadline), isolated PostgreSQL/schema checks, formatting, strict Clippy, advisories/bans and unused dependency checks. Regressions verify HTTP processing beyond 30 seconds, bus acknowledgements after 61 seconds and Whisper processing after 121 seconds. Measured coverage: lines 89.03%, regions 86.66%, functions 86.48%.

The already verified timeout commit is 16a12770ed. All three required jobs of CI 1287 passed on that exact head; the optimized worker canary passed in 542.20s. Release and published-image/data verification follow the protected merge. Detailed evidence and measurement limits: docs/migration/report.md and docs/timeouts.md. No production rollout.
